Christmas Closure Date
We will be closing for the Christmas break on Wednesday 23rd December and will open again Monday 4th January 2016.
During the Christmas and New Year period, calls will be directed to our Sales Engineer, Paul Copeland.
We would like the take this opportunity to thank everyone involved that's helped make 2015 a prosperous year for us.
We hope you have a lovely Christmas and a very happy New Year.
Here is an example of one of our many seal repairs we recondition on a daily basis. This particular seal, as shown below, is a Chesterton type 150, 28mm shaft seal.
The seal had a broken Silicon Carbide stationary which had also effected the sleeve, causing it to wear in many places.
Following our strict seal repair routine, we started with strippig the seal and giving all the components a thorough wash to remove any contaminations or excess lubricants. Due to the condition of the damaged parts, it meant we had to replace them with brand new components. Once the seal had it's TLC; put back together and passed it's pressure test- it was good to go and the seal is pactically new.
New Kid on the Block.
We would like to welcome Jack Moran to the team as our new Apprentice. He will be studying Level 3 in Engineering at Riverside College, Widnes. We hope he enjoys his time here at Midas and wish all the best in achieving his NVQ.

Environmental Controllers have revolutionized the sealing environment in stuffing boxes
When used with Chesterton mechanical seals to reduce the flush fluid required and further enhance seal reliability by driving seal cavity circulation and solids removal.
Improving seal reliability and contributing to production efficiencies
There is a SpiralTrac™ Environmental controller for every application, from split designs, designed specifically for the 442 split seal, to solid stainless steel designs for conventional cartridge seal installations. SpiralTrac™ environmental controllers can also be designed for specific stuffing box/back cover arrangements.
